INNOVATION AND GLOBAL FORESIGHT

MIDRES™: from mineral-asset evidence to better decisions.

MIDRES™ (Mhatu Integrated Digital Resource Evaluation Standard) is Mhatu's framework for organising mineral-asset evidence, evaluation and valuation support.

What it is

A bridge between evidence and decisions.

Mineral projects generate evidence in many forms: geology, rights, infrastructure, markets, environment and risk. Decisions go wrong when that evidence is scattered, undated or unexamined. MIDRES™ sets out how the evidence is organised, so that the basis for a development or investment decision is documented and can be reviewed.

It supports Mhatu's main services. It does not replace them, and it does not replace qualified professional judgement.

Evidence it draws on

Geological, rights, infrastructure, market, environmental and risk evidence.

What it produces

A documented basis connecting the evidence to development and investment decisions.

Who it is for

Rights holders preparing a project, investors reviewing one, and partners who need to see how a conclusion was reached.

Three things share the name

Company, framework and software are different.

The name MIDRES™ is used for three separate things. Keeping them apart avoids confusion about who is responsible for what.

The company

Mhatu Integrated Digital Resource Evaluation Standard (Pty) Ltd is a separate company from Mhatu Minerals and Investments (Pty) Ltd. Any formal arrangement between the two is confirmed before it is published.

The framework

MIDRES™ is Mhatu's proprietary framework for organising mineral-asset information and supporting evaluation, development planning and investment decisions.

The software

Operational software supports the framework. It is distinct from both the company and the framework. Its specific features are published only once they have been confirmed.

Direction

Where Mhatu is taking it.

These are development priorities. They describe the direction of travel and are not claims about features that are live today.

Digital traceability

Stronger evidence organisation and clearer visibility of the assumptions behind each conclusion.

Responsible use of AI

Assessing AI-assisted research, planning and reporting only where it solves a defined problem, protects confidential information and keeps accountable human review.

Planning and research

Better inputs for project selection, development planning and investment preparation.

Readiness for changing demand

Tracking shifts in industrial demand, energy systems and trade corridors to improve partner fit and readiness for larger opportunities.

Boundaries

What MIDRES™ does not do.

Professional review

Outputs remain subject to project-specific evidence and qualified professional review.

Reporting codes

MIDRES™ does not replace formal reporting codes or the Competent Person.

Certification

It does not itself certify a mineral asset, resource or reserve.

Claims

This page makes no statement about the scale, performance or accuracy of any output, and no statement about licences, production or funding.

Next step

Discuss how evidence would be organised for your project.

Start with one concise brief: what you control, the evidence available and the decision sought.
